Semen Gresik and Central Java Police Office Establish Collaboration to Safeguard the National Vital Objects

Rembang, April 23, 2021- PT Semen Gresik (SG) collaborated with the Central Java Police Office (Polda) to support the infrastructure safeguarding and SG installations as a vital national object, whose existence affects many livelihoods, people, and state income.

The collaboration was stated under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) execution between the Central Java Police represented by the Central Java Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Police Drs. Ahmad Lutfi, SH., S.St., M.K., and Semen Gresik, represented by the President Director, Subhan, at Pollos Hotel & Gallery Rembang on Thursday, April 22, 2021.

The MoU was witnessed by the Central Java Police primary officials, the Rembang Regent, Abdul Hafidz, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) members, in this case, was represented by Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Kurniawan Tandi Rongre as the Rembang Police Chief. Along with them, the Military District Commander (Dandim) 0720/Rembang District, Lieutenant Colonel Cavalry Donan Wahyu Sejati, the SG Board of Directors, the Police Chief in the former Pati Residency were also present in the event.

Kapolda stated that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are an integral part of the Government that must support vital national objects' security. "We highly appreciate this collaboration. By this MoU, it is expected to create a more conducive security and public order (kamtibmas) situation in the company and surrounding community. Also, to maintain the synergy and collaboration between the Polda and SG," said the Police Chief Inspector.

On the other flip, Subhan, the President Director of SG, asserted that MoU had been the synergy continuation closely intertwined between the Central Java Police Office and Semen Gresik since 2018.

According to him, the collaboration is more than asset safeguarding but also training collaboration to improve the security skills of SDM Security with the Rembang Police Office and District Military Command (Kodim), as well as synergy establishment to safeguard the company's surrounding community by the Sector Police, Community Police Officer (Bhabinkamtibmas), and Sub-District Military Command (Koramil). "Hopefully, this collaboration will strengthen the solidity and synergy between us and the Central Java Police for the progress of Central Java development in general and Rembang in particular," said Subhan.

Rembang Regent, Abdul Haifizd, said that his party highly appreciated the collaboration that SG and the Central Java Police Office had built. He conveyed that this MoU has a special meaning since it strengthens the synergy in safeguarding the company area, contributing positively to the community's economic sector, such as providing employment and employment opportunities.

Amidst the MoU event, the Rembang Police Office also launched the E-Lapor application, an innovation to report loss online. At the end of the event, the Kapolda visited the Integrated Agriculture and Livestock Edupark in the factory area as a program to support the food security of the company's surrounding community. During his visit to the Edupark, the Kapolda learned how to produce biogas from cow dung and raise Arabian chickens and quails. Besides, he was also introduced to various agricultural and medicinal plants. The Chief Police Officer’s visit ended at a fishing pond with a factory landscape. On that occasion, accompanied by Rembang Forkopimda and SG Board of Directors, the Chief Police Officer spread thousands of catfish seeds.
